Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gearing up to campaign for the forthcoming and highly anticipated Lok Sabha election in Karnataka, with a rally in Mysuru and a roadshow in Mangalore slated for Sunday, April 14.
This comes after mega rallies by the PM in Kalaburagi and Shivamogga districts of the southern state last month.
PM Narendra Modi will hold a public meeting with both BJP and JD(S) leaders in Mysuru, and then address a 1.5 km-long roadshow in the coastal city of Mangalore.
He had launched the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) poll campaign from Congress National President M Mallikarjun Kharge’s home turf at Kalaburagi, Karnataka.

The Prime Minister will address a large public meeting with leaders from both the BJP and its alliance partner, the Janata Dal (Secular), or JD(S).
Party members from the Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, and Hassan Lok Sabha constituencies are scheduled to attend the conference.
The event will take place on the premises of Maharaja College in Mysuru.
The Prime Minister will thereafter go to Mangalore, a seaside city in Dakshina Kannada district, for a roadshow at approximately 6 p.m.
The tour would last 1.5 km, from Narayana Guru Circle to Nava Bharat Circle, according to the agency.
EAM S Jaishankar to visit Bengaluru on April 15
Apart from these activities,
Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is planned to visit Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru the following day, on Monday, April 15, according to Sunil Kumar.
“He will be interacting with eminent personalities of the state at 4 pm at Indian Institute of Science, and at 7 pm he will be in a discussion with intellectuals,” the official said.
Speaking about Modi’s itinerary on April 14, the state’s convenor for the party’s Lok Sabha Election Management Committee said that the PM will address a public meeting at 4 pm on that day, in which party workers from Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Mandya, and Hassan Lok Sabha constituencies will gather at Mysuru’s Maharaja grounds.
Speaking to reporters here, Kumar said this would be a mega meeting in which leaders of both the BJP and the JD(S) will take part along with the prime minister.
“At 6 pm on April 14, Modi will hold a roadshow for about 1.5 km in Mangalore from Narayana Guru circle to Nava Bharat circle,” he said, adding that local leaders and functionaries of the party are already working for the success of these two programmes.

Karnataka is going to the polls in two phases. While 14 Lok Sabha segments in the southern parts of the state will vote on April 26, the remaining 14 constituencies in the northern parts will vote.
This morning, the Special Protection Group (SPG), responsible for the PM’s security, visited the Oval Grounds to oversee the preparations of the helipad. While the helipad for Modi’s chopper has been readied, another helipad for additional IAF choppers is also being prepared. The staff who are preparing the Grounds have been drawn from the Mysuru City Corporation and the University of Mysore.
The SPG personnel, who have been camping in the city to prepare for the Prime Minister’s hassle-free visit, conducted several inspections this morning at various locations.
On Apr. 13 a day before the PM’s arrival, rehearsals for the cavalcade movement will be conducted under the supervision of the SPG-National Security Guards.
This will be in preparation for the possibility of the PM travelling by road from Mysore Airport to the Maharaja’s College Grounds. However, whether he will opt for the road or take a chopper directly from the Airport to the Maharaja’s College Grounds remains unclear at this time.
